I'm not really a lover of this colour, but for those who are, there are plenty of ideas here. It can be a bit overpowering (as in No. 19 - Studio Milne), but the next one (No. 20, Temza) is an object lesson in using it as a highlight. I would not normally think of putting burgundy with sand, but in No. 9 - Dulux, this is a stunningly effective use of colour ! And what a joy to see a real piano in No. 21 - Brooke Cole ! (Damson chairs clash horribly, though - I'd have gone for brown/tan leather, or even picked out the red in the carpet and artwork.)

Dual Designs

I think it is always nice to be able to appreciate different colours and see how the designer has made them work. Maybe think of your own perfect bold colour and use that in the stylings above.

Our ideal look now will not be the same in the future, so looking at different styles and designs gives us the inspiration for our tomorrow must have look. Otherwise you can never move forward. We all need inspiration ... don't we??

Damson colours work beautifully in darker more intimate spaces when presented with confidence alongside other rich colours or drenched. Strong sunlight can cheapen it as can touches of red on soft furnishings tiling and carpets, especially when combined with white. I love the painted kitchen cabinets and roll top bath against the teal bathroom. The images with red tiling and red carpet are less successful in my view. Damson with teal, plaster pink or even blue-black can feel like a big warm hug.
