We both like this knotty alder color and look. It seems like it would blend w/our 30 year old fairly traditional/country/casual home.

Definitely would like pull out drawers -- either entire drawers that pullout full length or drawers behind cabinets that pull out.

Would like the island to have some sort of curvature -- easy to sit around -- a little bit of character -- depending on what that means on the overall cost.

This particular island we could use if we attached the island to a 1/2 wall on the west side of our kitchen. A wall that we are debating taking 1/2 down or all the way down.

Probably (getting two bids right now) going to get the stove/oven combo and microwave/oven -- I believe it is a 30" stove with 4 burners. We are also getting a bid for a range top and separate oven/microwave/oven.

This is similar to another idea -- connecting the island/counter to the kitchen on the east wall (I think I said south before --but it is east)

Interesting shape of an island ... looks like a lot of seating. Our kitchen is about 13 x 14 so this probably won't work. HOWEVER we are taking out a wall (or two) so however we can merge into the current dining area might change the dimensions.

We think we like Alder -- knotty Alder -- Definitely want higher stools for a higher counter top

Interesting shape -- We would want a higher counter on the long end and perhaps on one of the ends as well. Be nice to seat 4-6 people. When we have company we're ALWAYS in the kitchen

We could have an island/eating nook that connects to the end of the kitchen on the south side. However, right now the kitchen is at that corner so I'm guessing that would need to go elsewhere.

Assume this is more expensive than drawers that pull out for dishes?

The end of the island - would like a one-level wine rack and the bottom to be shelves or cupboard. Possibly for recipe books

Would like your opinion -- is this efficient for the use of a corner or not? Seems like it takes a lot of counter space -- for a place to put coffee maker/toaster, etc.

Don't drink much wine. But would like one wine rack like above -- but possibly at the end of the island? With below the wine rack a two-door cupboard? Maybe I'll see another one that looks like that.

Definitely want some pull-out drawers for pans and possibly for all dishes -- seems a lot easier to get at than upper cabinets.

Interesting shape. Thinking about a multi-level island. Would like something unique (shaped) like this but cost might prohibit. Would want the taller area to be larger so can easily use a breakfast eating and computing area.

Like this idea at a height that is standing level (upper cabinet or off stove unit. Some shelves taller and some smaller for different sizes of oils and/or spices.

Easy access; efficient. Do not like other options I've seen. Like where you can pull out just one drawer --not an entire pantry.
