Fireplaces

Stained shelves and mantle. Too contemporary. I don't really like the stained wood

This may have enough books to keep Stan happy but enough space to keep me happy.

Q

Very traditional lines--in white. I like this.

Q

Photo

This is interesting--the bookcases are only as high as the top of the mantle. Stan will prefer they go all the way up.

Q

I like the fireplace surround, although I wouldn't do black. I like the lower cabinets rather than having shelves all the way down

Q

Photo

I like this mantle/surround--it's not overdone but has a lot of interest to it

Q

Photo

I like the builtins and I like the way they're lighted/lit(?)

If we were doing a TV over the fireplace, this is the nicest one I've seen. The additional trim really makes it work. The shelves on either side are balanced

Q

Photo

cabinets plus shallower bookshelves are attractive and look balanced

Q

Stan doesn't like the white--but I do. having one side shelves and the other not would allow for (eventually possibly) putting a tv there (possibly in a cabinet it lifts out of)

Q

What a clever idea to store a starter or anything fireplace related that you don't want out

This is pretty. I'd have to think about whether I'd want the fireplace to go all the way up and whether I'd want light fixtures on either side of the art above the fireplace.

Q

Negative notes: Don't like the ceiling--too detailed/fussy Don't like fireplace without a mantle Don't like the colors either :-)

Q

Photo

I like the fireplace--we'd put art instead of a TV above it and bookcases to the side (since it won't be on an exterior wall)

Q

Photo

Big window, cabinets wrap around the wall a bit, which gives more storage (and could even allow for a tv if we decided we wanted one on the main level)

Q

Photo

The builtins to the sides of the fireplace with large windows/doors. Stan and I both like this. Possibly white white mantle and stained bookcases. Would be nice if bottom cabinets were deeper (to hold games) Don't like the wall color, and not sure about the white crown molding
