This one doesn't look too bad but it is also defined by the step down. Do we keep the step down?
Using columns to define a hallway which we don't have
If we are trying to define the space, I would almost rather pull columns with built ins from the wall but not excited about that either
patio - partial extension with widows above
These posts seem to separate a room and form a hall
Would like book cases and some storage around piano even if they are very shallow
Agree this is perfect inspiration for doors and fireplace - just with a bit darker and more varied stone in warm grey / blue shades
This is how I am envisioning the columns and it just seems to divide the room
This is the Kitchen inspiration picture. After talking with Beth the oven stack is too much but the rest is how I would like to see it. ( Obviously the island is rotated.)
Stair
This column was similar to one we had a picture of but I don't really like it
This seems too busy - don't really like the columns or the ceiling beams in this design
Like these stairs
Seems this is kinda what is suggested for the columns and I would like to avoid this

This is great. Similar to what i was suggestion to make sure we get enough light into the great room
Like this style for stairs Consider the painted reclaimed wood as an accent wall
The post in this one is nice but at the top of the stairs and across at the doorway. Still wouldn't want it in the middle of the room
