I love this photo. This is a BIG use of the perforated metal. It is minimalist. While the scale is large, I found it useful in terms of imaging a minimal frame. I am not sure what the material for this frame is, but it kind of looks like it could be two by fours, set vertically on either side as vertical braces...not sure what the top and bottom of the frame are made of. The frame is probably something other than wood, but I could imagine it being wood....the aluminum is light weight.

These are steel rods, which we could get from Loucon Metals in Ottawa. I like the details of the open corners, and the surrounding detail of the lower framing. Interesting. If we wanted the rods to pass through the posts, Loucon could thread the post ends for a nut closure.

The skirt of this deck is close to what mine will look like. Interesting how the deck overhangs the skirt. I think this is cabling, not horizontal steel rods, but a good photos of a minimalist/modern railing.
