I like this with the warmer touch so maybe red oak is the right stuff

perfect floors and are white oak. Looks like someone did some work to them to distress them but the color and look is exactly what we want with maybe a little less distressing.

Q

Photo

slightly darker needed but not bad. again minimize grain a little and maybe mix board size.

Q

Photo

I like this. maybe mix some sizes and minimize grain. stain is close. maybe a slight mix of lighter color every once in a while.

Q

Photo

too much grain showing. Need to hide grain with stain or buy cut wood to minimize some grain

Q

Photo

this would be close. I would want some more richness in the stain so not so uniform in color but color is close. Can we mix some wood sizes so some 5 inch and maybe 3.5 inch width to create some interesting texture?

Q

Photo

too dark obviously but see how some color variation creates interest. same concept but not on the black side of brown. more on the lighter side of milky dark chocolate that is warmer....

Q

Photo

closer to this with a touch darker. I like the faint red hue as I think it warms up the darker brown. this still has a lot of "grain", can that be avoided with white oak?

Q

Photo

Is there a way with white oak to avoid this much "grain"?

Q

Vernon, I DONT want floors to be like this. This is an example of an oak floor with a blah dark brown stain with lots of grain.

Q

Photo

oak but this sort of uniform blah color and a lot of grain is NOT what we want

Q

I like the kitchen and the floor is not bad
