REMODEL Baths, Kitchens & More/It's possible to eliminate the baseboard by making sure the wall framing is reasonably straight and that your drywall installer or plasterer is aware that they need to finish all the way to the floor. I would install the tile on Ditra which will allow for movement under the tile. Also, your tile setter will need to make precise cuts against the wall that will allow for a flexible grout joint. Bottom line. Everyone involved will need to take extra steps and time to ensure that the final result is what you want: No base board and clean crisp lines that transition perfectly.
