Comments say it can get 8ft high!
Reading through these comments it sounds like the horsetail could work with less water and shade - however, it needs to be extremely contained!
Do I like the stick bamboo or the leafy kind?
maybe do a raised planter box that we plant bamboo in and then have a ledge for seating?
