How the seating area was built: Pickell Architecture Mar 10: This seat was built on site by the carpenters, which is how they usually get done. We usually build a frame out of 2x4's, and cover it with painted plywood or MDF board and wood trim profiles. This seat accommodates storage drawers, the more economical alterative is to have hinged top panels below the cushions.

Another example of using a freestanding bench as part of a banquette. Included in one of the answers about it: "Not the designer here, bu the base looks similar to the Bistro Banquette by Hickory Chair, it can be made to measure, and it can be ordered in a higher back, and I think without the banding on the back....which would be this configuration if that is the case.
