"Kitchen cabinets containing food items are 15 inches above the countertop, at least 3 inches lower than the standard, for easier access. Overhead lighting and the light over the bar area were improved to address safety issues; task lighting under the cabinets illuminates the sink space, making it safer for the clients to prepare and handle food."

Electrical outlets are not placed too low. I actually like them a little higher than this.

I am wondering if this type of door gives as much privacy as a traditional one. It is an easy way to widen a doorway for a wheelchair and I like the rustic look.

I like the lower height of the seating area. This is much safer for older people and children than sitting on tall bar stools.
