Metal mesh inserts are a great middle ground, giving a slight peek at what’s inside the cabinet but without putting your stored goods on full display.

Toe kick drawers - use the baseboard space
This pullout is so clever. It has a nice extension for chopping at counter height, and when both drawers are pulled out, you can swipe the waste directly through the hole into the bin.
