Matiz Architecture & Design: We use components from Jakob or similar marine hardware manufacturers. In this case a great metal subcontractor set up mock-ups and the like so we could best decide on components.

capsuledesigns: it was an existing concrete structure, originally carpeted & closed in with a side wall. The existing concrete was very shabby to say the least, so we poured a new cementitious topping - a multi layered process. A formwork was built to create the saw-tooth profile to match the custom book-case underneath. Also, the stair was structurally "widened" to make it protrude out far enough to end up flush with the face of the book-case. The stair was also detailed with thin slivers of stainless steel, positioned to catch the south sunlight as it pours over the stairs, and also to add some 'adornment'. Also led lights were built into the treads.

Of course, these stairs are also ideal when there's an adjacent view and source of natural light. Even when the stair isn't all glass, light streams deep into the interior. Even a steel stringer, whether bent to form a ziggurat shape like this one, or as a more traditional diagonal, allows for transparency and that sculptural quality these stairs are known for.

Deck-Rail.com: "Not sure, looks like some sort of mechanical system that can adjust to any angle stair by loosening screws and fittings and tightening up when in place. We have a similar system, though it is not adjustable/custom for each application, though we do ship nationwide."
