Why am I thinking Palo Alto? Gray, rust and charcoal.

Dull brown on garage, rust brown and gray...not bad. Maybe a bit dated. but note the gray-brown that makes the garage disappear.

Contemporary light trim, medium gray house. Greenery plays well. But it begs for a colored front door and color in the garden.

Dark trim, light walls - values are close enough to be comfortable and the trim isn't so thick that it overwhelms the house. A red door could work with this.
