I love Lisa's suggestion on the porch! This would transform your house. I would stick every available penny into doing this This is your house : with this porch pathway on the side AND up the front. larger flower beds. you have a cute cottage home! Bring out the cottage feel! Even if you only modified the steps, added a stone/hardscape pathway, did more to the landscaping than flower beds, maybe a dutch door, it would make a huge difference. you don't have to do the picket fence (but you can), but nice bright siding, and the pathway up the middle to the front door looks so much better here's the full picture of that one:

I really like the color of your house. I would do wider steps. A small porch like the first photo Lisa Caudill Designs posted would be very nice. Although yours would be a bit asymmetrical to fit between the edges of the windows. I agree with you that you don't need shutters and they would be totally wrong for the larger window. Here is another option with a wider entry and a gable roof supported by corbels.

Hi flukechasr, what a cute house ! The portico idea is a good one and definitely should be the top priority on your to-do list. You're right about the shutters not appropriate for this house, even window boxes would seem too much for the scale of the house. I do like the lantern idea and grey-ish siding to add more curb appeal. Good Luck.

I would try this. It’s easy and works really well. I have used it for years. If you use 0000 steel wool to rub it on and then after waiting for about 20 min, rub off with a soft, lint free cloth. Great results. YouTube videos on amazon site I think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MucwmKeKyD4
