I like this steel with the rivets for texture and an idea of history (Chicago around 1880's when they build all the bridges with the rivets!

looks like the style of the buildings in the area which are called (HH)Richardsonian Romanesque revival. Of course you just take the idea and then design one that works because this one doesn't have a mantel but you get the idea....a contemporary version of this style
