For high ceilings one probaly wouldn't like cabinets way to the ceiling...add glass above. Better looking than a solid soffit or having no soffit at all

Using fabric behind an metal mesh in the cabinet doors. An alt idea besides using wood or glass. Fabric should be easy to replace, i.e. swapped out for a pattern that reflects the seasons
