I am loving this island with the range built in but I'd want more distance between the range and the sitting area.

I like the overall feel in this one. Rustic meets cozy. Also, the chair covers--are they washable? That might be a good compromise since upholstery plus my kids don't mix.
I like the overall aesthetic in this picture. The lights are attractive but maybe too thin?

I love how seamlessly the hood blends in to the rest of the design. Plus the wood accents are just right.

I chose this one for the layout---the stove is next to the sink and dishwasher and they all seem to go ok. still pondering if we should put all the elements on that one wall leaving the island to just be prep space.

Those stairs are so pretty. I just like the overall aesthetic here. I think we need to go with carpet stairs for cost reasons.

I don't think I want the sink in the island. Ideally, the island would be plain and we'd fit all the elements on one wall. Is that too crowded looking?

I like that herringbone pattern for a backsplash. But is too boring?
This is maybe a little too modern, but I do like the subtle pattern in the backsplash and the tile(?) floors. we are still undecided on what to do about our flooring.

I don't like the lights or barstools here, but otherwise I really like this. That grey island looks so great. I haven't convince mike yet on that one.
farm sink. herringbone backsplash. Mike likes the darker countertops but I like the lighter ones. This one looks good except I don't like the drawer pulls and knobs.
Those barstools are nice because they can be tucked under the island but there is still storage down there.
I really don't like when the sink is in the island. I think I pinned this because I wanted to see the combination of butcher block island with darker countertops.
