Living room final
multiple shelves rather than just two big shelves, then have space for decs as well as books. candlesticks work well but we won't have that, we could have plants on our mantle or bowls like they do, this palette is prob a little grey and cool, less keen on type of curtain where can see rings and not so neat. the colour of the curtain may not stay time, we want the curtains style and colour to last decades, ie classic and low risk
the colour combo of the blind and the curtain and harmonious with settees. the thicker dooer frame works ok because view is large and attention grabbing, the table is more decorative then anything b/c it is too far from settees. we don't need so many cushions. they have quite alot of space around the furniture. i like the pleating and way curtain densley folds back, probably to one side
the white works well with the dark in the sunlight but what about when overcast? like the lights and interesting how two very different lights work because they indicate different space, may have light maker near tamworth for the big light. the lightshade and chair roughly same tone, dark wood of tall shade contrasts nicely with the walls but links to balustrade and beams and to some extent with furnit and floor. we need to think about tone matching as well as colour matching in different areas and heights of the room to bring harmony
off white walls warmer than white maybe although this tone is quite cool, luxurious soft rug rather than natural material. i really like appearence of natural rugs but they are not comfy so better for dining area if they are practical, eg can bang out effectively, don't want food crumbs catching in them
having same size frames and grid pattern is unusal and harmonious and eye catching but not MCM and expensive. poss work for family photos, but we're more likely to have groups of differnt styles and sizes and materials or one big painting, there are examples elsewhere showing how to mix and match well
having same colour scheme makes the living room bigger, so prob best to have same colour on walls in sun room although floor and ceiling will be different, so do we want partial link? we need to think how to coordin soft furnishings, eg if have same wall colour, we might have complimentary curtains and complim/matching pillows to bring harmony to both rooms, don't want curtains that jar with the living room
grounding of furnit with carpet, there are other examples in the main living room folder, we need to decide whether we use this technique and cover most of the parquet, larger = more protection but more expensive, or in front of settee under the coffee table. also it would be nice to have a rug under the sort of isabel play area and that is outside of the main furnit area, pot could have two rugs one for isabel and one for grounding but that might look odd as they would be so close together. matching lamps, ie a pair, brings harmony, not sure if we need two or have space, and matcing lampshade colour and settee, this would be nice to achieve
floor to ceiling curtains and the style of the pleat. i like light cream furniture but may not work with light floor, we would need darkish rug and curtains, not sure about colour of curtains, maybe something more cream? something that doesn't attract too much attention from the garden, or make them a feature, let's look at existing and decide and do them last
