Engineered wood flooring lets you use wider 7-9" planks to get a look you can't easily get with solid flooring. But the core is often softwood and prone to denting. LVP has a stone/plastic core that's harder and doesn't dent. It also is very water-resistant. So what if you could take the real wood veneer layer from engineered wood flooring and use the SPC core of LVP. There are some newer products that are constructed like that. Geowood uses a 1.2mil layer of hardwood(3.2 for engineered-so less) with a SPC core and snap together configuration. Real wood with no repeat variation instead of a printed picture that repeats. Same aluminum oxide clearcoat.
