I think you are OK to replant. Add some compost to improve drainage. The only big replant issue is with Mustard Seed Fungus. Give your replants plenty of space so they don't get crowded and try to dig and divide after 3 years. I start my iris in potting soil in 4" pots since any rot problems usually show up at this initial stage before they are growing well... and then plant them out when the roots are showing in the drainage holes.
