Direct light is intense, bright light from a single source creating sharply defined shadows that flatten out three-dimensional detail. While a gambrel roof breaks into 2 different pitches, an umbrella has 3, lowest facet flaring at the eaves. When hipped and combined with a large overhang, a dominant form results, like a hat. Oversized windows and shutters bring the overall scale down, BMoore Hazy Blue.

Cladding Terracade is a clay facade system made from natural and recycled materials. Combined with elements like wood, stone and brick, and contrasted with hard textures like concrete and steel, these terra-cotta facades show how contemporary an old material can be.

[[Who make the metal sizing with ZACtique II finish? -like idea of prefinished and zero maintenance!]] The 2 types of metal siding from AEP Span, Tacoma, WA. The metal siding profile from AEP Span was Nu-Wave Corrugated and then another, wider profile. I did not consider aluminum [interesting idea]. Our work generally has a Construction cost between $375/Sf and $550/SF. This house is at the lower end of that range.
