ok good. I'm sure it will be fine once it's all done. overall they did a good job. I was just focusing on where they made all the cuts. BTW, no grout in the change of plane joints. those would be the vertical wall corners, all around your bench, the joint between the shower floor and the walls (this is in the wet areas) . All of those should be 100% silicone caulk. they make this in the grout colors that you use. has to be 100%. tilers love to grout these joints w/regular grout. grout is not waterproof. so in areas where water has the highest probability of getting in, you want silicone.

yes, the large white porcelain tile would work w/just about everything. (as long as you get a vanity top replacement at some point. the creamy yellow doesn't go w/the brighter white) I understand that floor tile is in other parts, but redoing only the shower only to go back in at a later point to redo the bathroom floor seems like a waste. You already have the bathroom torn up. taking up that ceramic tile is messy and dusty. You're already going to have a tiler in the bathroom doing the shower, so have him to the floor at the same time! This bathroom tile doesn't have to match the other tile in the laudry room or kitchen! You could do a dark charcoal floor tile and the white wall tile. (the black or charcoal would look perfect next to the laminate flooring) for example, I did this porcelain charcoal tile for a clients bathroom redo. the shower floor is also a porcelain tile in a herringbone design The shower curb is a quartz backsplash. they come in a 9'X6" piece. we cut it to length and took off 2" to top the 4" shower curb. You can buy these for $60 or so. here's the shower floor You could do a solid white wall tile in a 12x24, 24x24 , 18x18 or similar size. (the larger the tile, the less grout to keep clean) similar design inexpensive porcelain black and white basketweave floor tile. for inside and/or outside the shower floor or do a larger square cool tile for outside the shower. the black or charcoal would look perfect against the warm reddish laminate flooring. (lowes has this) you could also do a larger hex tile in a marble look porcelain. matte black large hex. paired w/white tile, and whatever else you plan on doing in there, is a good neutral then, get a pre-fab white quartz vanity top. (youre in Calif? you can find these all over the place for cheap) Dal Tile Ash Gray larger hex floor tile. it's warm enough to coordinate w/the mahogany lam.

NO GROUT in joints between floor tile and wall tile; all change of planes, 100% SILICONE GROUT (you'd be surprised how many 'expert' tile setters do NOT do this). 3- 4" matte white or gray shower floor tile, gray grout, not white.

New shower (wall and pan) tile at a rental - what is the best choice?

Q

pre-fab white quartz top in CA cheap. Beth: “tile from State College Distributors in Anaheim, on tile row (State College between Ball and Katella) George Solis. Most available in 1-2 days…Warm griege elongated hex on shower floor (porcelain) and 4 x 12 subway tile. Curb is quartz backsplash cut to length. I like hex more casual / 12, 24” if enough floor space -modern."

Haha, you know i never really do but hey! I can afford a few, lol. I found this online and may be an answer. Plumber coming over, when he gets a chance to “mark this drain line up” to check this route that i’m worried about. It’s only 2’ that concerned me. Not distance but grade (down slope) and my SIL can do some digging for us to help with plumber labor.

Japanese-style ofuro soaking tub, 3.5' x 4.5' x 4' deep (cast in place, waterproof admixture in the concrete mix]. Linear trench drain for any overflow -look closely to see a trench drain set into the concrete floor just next to the entry step. /There’s waterproof sheet product behind the wood panels, stained, CVG fir with a clear sealer./ Are panels edge banded, stained? your design subtle, a simple 2mm reveal between the panels does the trick -essentially a shadow line. You will not need the edge to be finished [you won’t see it].

Tip: building benches, windows, niches: waterproofing right up the wall and take extra care around the windows. Kerdi Fix outstanding for seaming window to the shower's waterproofing system. Tip: building steam shower, consider Dornbracht fixtures -steam shower -at least 5 years' experience vaporproofing./ finished ceiling height of 80" min. and shower at least 30x30" for National Kitchen Bath guidelines. Record the toilet location. A distance of 15 - 18" from the the center of the toilet to the glass on the new shower door seems comfortable.

You didn't specify the size. The size makes all the difference. It's a bunch of stuff on your sink - cutting board, colander, various bowls. If your sink is 30" wide or so, you won't have access to the use of the sink itself without having to put that stuff elsewhere. But if you get one of the Kohler workstation sinks that are 45" wide, you will have more space. If you don't have that width, then I'd skip the workstation sink.

Ok drain-pan design, but much cleaner with continuous floor. Design openings and spacing correctly, for ADA-compatible design for elderly buyers (with bench and rails)...floor needs to slope for drainage, but my foundation is concrete slab with rebar that is not supposed to be cut into because of earthquake protection. Is this look still possible?

Sean O'Brien glass is low-iron, but not Starfire. A good quality Starfire glass has minimal green tint, even when viewing the edge. VanGo Shower Glass: It looks like 12mm. STANDARD IS 10 mm. Starfire is really a marketing name and even most architects would be hard pressed to tell the difference between it and low-iron for anything 12mm or less.

Expert: We (carefully) removed and re-purposed the shower glass enclosure - likely from a local glass provider. Find local for sample of 3/8" thick tempered "rain" textured glass in aqua and clear.

The tiles came in 300 x 300mm units, and were attached to the side of the bath on the sheeting. With baths you need to plan the height to match a division of the tile height / Timber stands up surprisingly well to water. Just don’t splash water everywhere. Seal with a durable decking sealer. Choose a species that is water-resistant; most countries have a few species that are. If it deteriorates, sand back and refinish the timber in 5 years / can’t do that with tiles!
