As we discussed, I like the idea of maybe doing the wall behind the stairs in a different texture/finish.

Another possibility for the back elevation. We like the two different finishes, the windows, the changes in depth, and the two of windows on the left side (similar to where our staircase is)

I like the metal above the windows, the change in depth from the left portion and the main portion of the house. I don’t like how much this would stand out compared to the neighbors. I don’t want it to be a contemporary house that contrasts . I want it to have some elements that make it fit the neighborhood. We can go more contemporary on the front and interior—less on the back where it will be above most neighbors.

This is the feel i’ve Wanted with a big window at the end of our bath. Carrie has doubts about that much window. I think switchable glass may be the compromise. Still discussing. We aren’t talking about anything but the window and layout (we don’t want all white or these materials).
