IRONING BOARD
Craft area. In this generously proportioned laundry room, a countertop at left is a broad, flat surface for package wrapping and crafting. Notice that its height matches the countertop to the right (with the sink), which is 36 inches high. Two counter-height stools provide seating.
Sewing station. Anyone who enjoys sewing knows what a pain it is to set up and take down your clunky machine every time you want to make a repair or tackle a project. A special sewing station in your laundry room can help you get your work done with an ironing board and other necessities nearby.

The team at Urbanology Designs used a mix of white, wood and brass to give this Flower Mound, Texas, laundry room clean, transitional style. Plenty of cabinets, cubbies, a hanging rod, rolling laundry bins and ample counter space make doing laundry a breeze. A large, beautiful light fixture elevates the room’s style.
Interior designer Henrietta Heisler used a few tricks to maximize the storage in this York, Pennsylvania, laundry room. She bumped out the cabinets and shelves over the washer and dryer for two reasons. One, she hid the air vent in plain sight (it’s behind the open shelves on the right) and painted it to match the cabinetry. Two, it makes it easier to access items when standing in front of the machines.
