OK, I like this floor THE BEST for the kitchen. Your thoughts?

What do you think about this hanging light over the island? Maybe a 6" round log with three lights as above?

I like this floor if we can do in kitchen....or maybe mud area. Would a floor like this save in costs. Remember Tom failed to include the hardwood ACV for the kitchen in the estimate. If we can capture that and offset with a slate or tile like below that may help.

10" log walls in kitchen - horizontal. I like the ceiling, but to save money, what do you think about a drywall ceiling with log beams as an added touch? Stove where the refrigerator was, longer island - maybe a log beam over island with dropped lights like above. Exterior wall facing playground - refrigerator as above, sink, then dishwasher. No "L" like in the George design.
