Hi. Thanks for asking. The risers are painted steel. I think the color is Benjamin Moore "baby seal black." I would probably go a little darker next time. The slight paint textures makes it seem lighter. The carpet strips were temporary. The owner had a large dog who tended to slip around and scratch the treads. I think they are FLOR tiles cut to the right size. Hope that helps! John

the wood is cedar with a Cabot stain of bark mulch- Add A stair case to the deck

'm not sure of the colour, however the cedar is best lightly sanded before applying Cetol.
