Basement living room extension with floor to ceiling sliding doors, plywood and stone tile walls and concrete and wood flooring create an inside-outside living space.

Twelve Black is a contemporary family home designed for comfort, function and quiet drama. The design centres around a refined black palette, softened by natural light and grounded in durable, low-maintenance materials—ideal for a busy family lifestyle. Open-plan living spaces connect seamlessly to the outdoors, with a functional layout that balances communal areas and private retreat zones. Thoughtfully detailed joinery, built-in storage and a flexible kitchen and dining hub support modern day-to-day living. While bold in appearance, the home’s simplicity allows family life to take centre stage.

The connection to the outside was really the key factor in the design process of this reception room. We kept the seating area light and minimal and used organic shapes to create a soft harmony with the existing architecture of the building. An abundance of natural daylight and the views onto the greenery coming in from the exterior are the focal point.

The Clear Lake Cottage proposes a simple tent-like envelope to house both program of the summer home and the sheltered outdoor spaces under a single vernacular form. A singular roof presents a child-like impression of house; rectilinear and ordered in symmetry while playfully skewed in volume. Nestled within a forest, the building is sculpted and stepped to take advantage of the land; modelling the natural grade. Open and closed faces respond to shoreline views or quiet wooded depths. Like a tent the porosity of the building’s envelope strengthens the experience of ‘cottage’. All the while achieving privileged views to the lake while separating family members for sometimes much need privacy.

The simple layout of this two bedroom cottage is modern and well equipped but exudes a nostalgic feel. This off-grid retreat melds effortlessly with the surroundings and provides the ultimate in comfort.

Abbiamo utilizzato un profilo a veletta angolare, con emissione luminosa sia nella parte superiore che inferiore. Questa nostra veletta è fatta per coloro che non hanno la possibilità di poter eseguire lavori di cartongesso. Vi sono velette non solo angolari ma anche piatte a parete. Sotto ogni pensile è stata installata una delle nostre stripled mini, in grado di emettere molta luce riducendo gli spazi di impiego. Ogni stripled è dimerabile dal cliente così da decidere l'intensità luminosa. Sull'angolo destro troviamo una lampada da terra con emissione di luce verso l'alto e dietro al divano una lampada ad arco così da minimizzare gli spazi ma donando un tono accogliente e moderno. Sulla colonna di sinistra è stata eseguito un rivestimento in cartongesso, il quale lo abbiamo sfruttato per installare un'illuminazione indiretta.
