interconnecting rooms

last year

Hi everyone, I wonder if someone can help. I’m toying with the idea of breaking the wall between our tv room and family room and add a glass sliding door. Pictures attached. The family room is south east facing and doesn’t get that much light so I thought by breaking the wall we could get the afternoon light from the other room next door. But I know we would also lose some space. I’ve attached a couple of picture of the rooms attached. The first 2 are the family room and the 3rd is the tv room

I like lots of light too, so I get your dilemma. Doors, or an internal window, or even a combination of both would be a good way to achieve that. If you had an internal window rather than doors, you could still put furniture against that wall. French doors would also be a smart option if there is room for the doors to open.

Has the same issue with the back room being quite dark despite having a large window.it is a grey day today so not that bright -photos are from either side

Looks stunning. I came to a compromise with my husband who still in convinced. I’ll add a large mirror and see if that will make a difference 🤞
