I wonder if four separate blinds would look a bit over fussy? I think one big pair of curtains over the whole lot would possibly look better, although there is a rad under the window. Or simple wooden slatted blinds per window. Will you actually use the window covering at night as it’s a play room?

How about two Roman blinds, with two windows covered by each? Or even one wide one for all the windows. Or the curtains as suggested by Sonia.

If going inside the recesses I'd go for roller blinds or you'll lose a lot of light.

The reason I leaned towards Roman blinds was to create a bit of warmth in the space with the fabric….so I could even do an unlined linen just for privacy (although the curtains would rarely be closed anyway)…. But is there even such a thing?

I want to avoid curtains as my 2 boys would just get them ruined. And one big long Roman blind probably wouldn’t work as the space is about 2.5m wide.

Have a look at Blinds 2 Go - they are really reasonably priced and they now do a no-drill fitting option that would fit inside each recess. I got one for my daughter’s room and it took all of five minutes to fit. My son’s room has a blind from there too but as it was outside the recess, we had to drill and it was a faff! They have some lovely fabrics including some gorgeous unlined linens too. They also have some voiles if you wanted a sheer effect.
