1930 semi detached with middle stairs, No landing or bathroom upstairs

Hello team,
I wanted to get some advise and if anyone was in a similar situation.
The layout of the house I want to buy is a bit tricky.
There is no landing and no bathroom upstairs. My little one will soon start potty training and o doubt she will go to the toilet downstairs at night. The only option I could see was to create a shared bathroom above the staircase with access from both rooms. Not sure if there is usually enough space in that empty section of the staircase and how much do you think this would cost
