concrete paver stuck to plywood floor

Hi all,

We are currently renovating our living room and want to put in a new fireplace. However, there is a large concrete paver (about 2inches thick) that is being used as a hearth which appears to be glued to the plywood subfloor. I've tried using a prybar to shift it a little bit but no luck so far. Any suggestions on how to remove it without damaging the subfloor?

Thank you!

That looks like MDF on the top. Is it concrete under it or is it all the same material?

Apologies I think the picture is bad quality but the slab is concrete all over

I think the only way to remove it is by using a wide chisel and a lump hammer. Even then there’s no guarantee you won’t damage some of the floor underneath it

Thank you Daisy - we'll try that
