One sconce or two?

I love the look of gooseneck tapered sconces over a kitchen sink/window. We are trying to decide whether to use one or two sconces. The window is 50"w, the sink will be 34", and the sconce we love has the following proportions: Overall: 10.75" w x 8" d x 12.5" h; Shade: 8" dia, 6.75" h

I like the look of a single light personally, but I'm worried the one we ordered will get lost over our wide window (it's wider than it is high). The firm we're working with recommended two, but then they won't be centered over the sink. Any recommenations? I'll paste some drawings of one light vs. two in the comments.

The sconce dimensions don't add up. It says the shade is 8' deep and the overall fixture is 8" deep. One of those is wrong when looking at the side view.

I think 2 sconces look better in the space.

Just a quick note to thank you all for sharing your thought, ideas, experience and time. It may not be perfect or according to the the "Rules", but it is Me and my family. Each and every piece was chosen by me in different parts of the world and each one of them has a unique story behind. I am very pleased with my space. I love it! My husband is the same! Just my opinion but as they're both chandeliers I'm not convinced it will work. Could you get a cheap light for by the woodburner? Either something hung lower than the chandelier or semi-flush in a different style. Maybe something contemporary as a contrast? I know that's not ideal re budget but you may be able to get a bargain in the sales. Do try just holding the light there though when the room is built and take a pic as i may be wrong..

Hello nicnoll, Another idea could be to have a wall light that is all about the bulb! A few links to both ideas.... Copper is good too... One other idea... have a rose with multi flex wires... centralised where the current one is.. Then choosing cable/flex and lengths.. run them along to where you want.. either along ceiling.. in loops with hooks to loop round and fix position, so then excess becomes a drop pendant to add something lovely.... Or you run them in loops across the ceiling to the opposite wall and have a wall light fitting but the electric cable comes from the one ceiling point. So less to do wiring wise.. To sconce or not to sconce... Narrow Powder Room

Looking for lighting suggestions for 3' 10" (46") x 7'10" powder room with 9 ft ceilings. I've found several great examples but not sure of the dimension/scale. With 9' ceiling, would you go with hanging pendant/s or sconces? There is a also huge 3x5 window as well, so plenty of natural light. I think 8" refers to the overall diameter, and 10.75 is how far it comes from the wall with the gooseneck?

One would be sufficient for a 50" window, plus task lighting under the cabinets. The fixture is lovely, BTW.

One would not be sufficient nor would it be balanced. In design we want to create that balance, with even proportions. So going with two sconces will give you a "balanced and completed" look and feel.
