Please Help with our bathroom!

Hello

We have recently constructed a wet room which has been a total disaster. We have laid and relaid the floor twice and will need to now do it for a third time.

Any guidance on what floor tiles to pick this time around and any help on a new vanity unit /sink to use to lift the room would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi,

As in water flows out the door. Initially grouted the wrong colour. We’ve had to bleach it white and I am not sure the wall tiles and floor tiles work together either. Particularly with black fittings and a white towel rail.

It’s all a bit muted and flat.

I think you will be fine with that choice in a small bathroom and I'm sure it's actually relatively common. Here is one example I found on houzz and it's a combination with have in our small carriage house bath as well. For floor we did white hexagons with a repeating black pattern. http://houzz.com/photos/740269

Thank you for the recommendation minnie101. We currently have 5 bathroom chandeliers available at VictorianPlumbing.co.uk. Adding a chandelier to your bathroom design definately makes a statement in opulence and luxury!

The answer maybe to add a shower door. A hinged on with a glass end that can disappear when the shower is not in use. Get. Nice mirror above the sink and I think you will feel differently about the space. The wall tiles are lovely and add texture and the floor tiles add interest. Best to have a white radiator as black would have been too much.

I agree that the floor tiles, while pretty, do not go with the wall tiles. What wall tiles are they? I think I’ve picked the same ones for my upcoming bathroom refurb!

(For mine, I’m going for a slate floor. In your scheme slate would pick up the black of the fittings, which could be nice. Maybe slate hexagons? If that’s too dark, maybe a Moroccan-feel tile with some black in the pattern?)

I’d also consider changing the light fitting to one with more warmth and character. A mirror will help, too, and maybe a large plant?
