Garden design ideas
Hi.
We have a new build property and we will be doing the garden this spring but we are a little stuck on ideas. We’re thinking artificial turf and a clean looking finish, but the shape is challenging. I’ve attached a rough sketch idea but we want seating and a hot tub area where the current inflatable one is.
Any thoughts appreciated.

2 years agoThank you for the idea. My original sketch was well off with proportions. I’m not sure the circles would make best use of the space towards the back for seating.
We’re using the bottom of the garden for seating due to the sun hitting that part all day.

Comments (0)Hi all, Looking for a few ideas on what to plant in different areas of a small garden. The first photo shows the front, the bed near the window gets a lot of sun in both winter and summer. I did plant wild flower seeds here last September but it was a bit late so only have the below. As it gets the sun I would like to plant flowers that would attract bees........any ideas? Also looking to plant 2 or 3 plants down the side of the fence........what would be recommendations? The bed by the wall doesn't really any sun during the winter and a bit in the summer. Was thinking the tree as there and adding a cherry blossom in the middle or maybe a bit closer to the gate. Good idea? The second photo shows the back, the plan was/is to put decking over half the grass and plants in the bed. What would you recommend for this bed? It gets no sunshine in winter but gets a lot from end of April to start of Sept. The third one shows another bed at the back that again only gets sunshine in the summer. Again what would be the recommendation here? And finally looking for somewhere in Ireland I can buy all of the recommendations online?? Comments (0)Our new house has a large drop from the back door (soon to be French doors) to the back garden. I have an active 18 month old boy and a soon to be mobile 6 month old girl, there is no way I can leave the set up as it is as its very steep and dangerous (even for adults). The most obvious solution I can see is to build out a raised deck. Its a sunny spot in the evenings so it probably would be used, but tbh decking is just not really something I naturally gravitate towards. I was wondering if there were any other ideas I have overlooked? it has to be relatively cheap as our savings are being swallowed by the house renovation. 11 months agoHi Paul, I'm not a landscape designer but we designed this space for a recent project. We used the dark walls to highlight the planting & the Siberian larch which will age nicely. This area is paved but we also integrated artifical grass making this a low maintenance garden. Good luck with your project
