Design Dilemma Kitchens

Kitchen design advice please!!

I'll attach a picture of a kitchen design below. I'm wondering what to do with the utility door-it's in between the tall units and high wall units in the current design. If I leave it there, will I have to have a door the same colour as the kitchen? I'm planning a, glass door for the hallway. Or will I move the utility door-we can move it at this stage. Any advice welcome please!!

Hi minnie101, Thanks so much for your detailed reply. Great to know what colour that grey is. It may be a little dark with our floor. We will definitely update the handles - I hate the current ones. We'll probably go with wood to keep within budget. Your non-tiles pic is lovely. We'll probably keep some tiles and try to keep the kitchen a little more modern than country kitchen, which might be a challenge with wood. The room faces south. I like your idea of dividing it with paint. We probably will go with white in the kitchen and then 1/2 slightly darker tones in the tv-couch area. The 'other' entrance into the dining area is narrowed by a non-structural wall, so we should remove this to open it properly or like you say, close it off. Maybe not close it off entirely as we'd lose a lot of light, but maybe put in a counter or breakfast bar if space allowed. I love your pendant light suggestions over the dining table. Details like this and a rug in the couch area will really help divide the room as at the moment it is one big cavernous space. I really can't decide yet what way the couches should face - into a tv in the corner, or out into the room like you suggest. We'll have to draw out some chalk outlines on the floor and see how much space there actually is. Colour-wise we like the idea of keeping walls and cabinets quite stark, the wood counter will add a bit of warmth, and then adding colour with couches, rugs and possibly dining chairs. I've attached a couple of pieces of furniture I like. Some may not work, but we'll figure it out.

Hi - its such a big and important project, i really think you need to sit down with a good kitchen designer and fully tease out your requirements and then look at every possible layout option. by sitting down with someone, they will draw each possible layout to scale in front of you and that way you will be able to see the pros and cons of each design. it makes decision making much easier best of luck with the project Barry

Have lots of space and am looking for 8 seater min, with perhaps extending to 10. Rectangular or Circular, but think rectangular would work best. Kitchen pic is of showroom, my kitchen is being fitted at the moment. I have wood effect tiles in bleached blonde on the floor and have chosen a very modern over table light. Thanks in advance.

Months of thinking about this layout and this is where we are at. I spoke with numerous kitchen makers and this is the best I have come up with for our open plan design. The space is 10.16m x 5.8m with a vaulted hip ceiling. Please give me your thoughts on this? is it functional? what could I/should I change?

Thank you so much Deirdre. Much appreciated. What a beautiful kitchen!! I got a kitchen designed with that idea but my partner doesn't want it as he thinks the doors will get marked too easily 🙈. I might revisit it again though after seeing that kitchen

It looks fantastic but I can see his concern especially if you had a hand painted kitchen, but I doubt you would use it any more than a press. You have plenty of space to do it 😉
