Help to jazz up book case/ book shelf
Comments (27)I think you're making great progress. CDR wanted you to put them all vertical because she thinks only professionals should style bookcases. We are/were all amateurs at one point, that doesn't mean we shouldn't decorate our own homes. You're getting there! Just keep studying the photos of bookshelves that you like and keep practicing. Just remember to keep the decorations simple. Look over the beautiful photo above from Maureen again, and you can see that some shelves are still all books, and there are only a few decorative pieces....See MoreRedesigning kitchen
Comments (5)Why don't you have an L shape and use the area under the window also for your sink and a couple of extra units? you could add shelves on either side of the window? Not sure why your fridge has to go at that end? might be best at the other end? As Sarah, suggests, get full height cupboards, and put the microwave in one of those, so that you're not losing so much space. Extra storage is probably more useful than having the microwave on display? It can easily be put on a shelf within a cupboard. (Our isn't even in our kitchen, but then we only use it once a week or so... so really depends) I'd also suggest drawers to the bottom of your units instead of cupboards....See MoreScatter cushion conundrum!
Comments (3)I agree with Maureen, keep the blue and add to it. It's missing a focus point- invest in a patterned cushion that pulls all the blues together. And commit to what style you want; quirky for an electric style like houndstooth or herringbone patterns, traditional for a classic feel like the stripes you currently have, or a contemporary bold pattern to keep it current, etc. Add a fourth or fifth cushion and vary the size to keep it interesting, keep the blues you have and add one larger and one smaller, that will fit in with the colour pallet, eg. light brown that would be tonal to the couch and dark teal to add depth. A throw that blends in with the couch and has a chunky inviting texture such as wool might also be a good move. Would love to see the after photo if you make changes!...See MoreWhat is the best style fence to keep animals out while keeping a view?
Comments (0)Our back garden borders on a farm (sometimes horses, sometimes cows, and also pigs/pig huts). We want to keep the amazing view, while keeping the animals out. What is the best style fence to keep the view? We don't like the metal fence look, but we also would like low maintenance and durability. Any suggestions? The electric fence is currently there, but we want a fence that is entirely secure....See MoreUser
