Ground Floor layout

This is the ground floor of my house, we are looking to extend the kitchen out and possibly add a downstairs toilet. Unfortunately from previous extensions the layout of the whole ground floor doesn’t really work.
We cannot extend out in the ‘storage’ area at the back as this not full height, it is just a cupboard height storage area so the shape doesn’t allow for a rectangular kitchen at the back.
Any ideas on how we could lay this out better would be great or professionals I could ask for advice.
