Indigo kitchen cabinet handles

Hi all, our kitchen cabinets are a lovely deep indigo. They originally came with these very thick brushed copper handles, but I feel they're too overpowering and quite masculine. I attempted to match the handles with the cooker and sink and tried these brushed nickel handles, but I think they're too cold now! I'd love to hear your thoughts on which material would go with the indigo colour. AND if you had any recommendations for where to buy quality handles from, I feel like I've tried them all!! Hi,

I have very similar coloured kitchen cabinets and went for an antique brass.

I have a stainless steel range, fridge and sink taps. I like to mix the metals - thety don't have to match. If you want more info on handles let me know and I will ask my kitchen fitter.

I would have oak handles, it would warm it up, complement the blue and work with the floor.

This is a very small and dark kitchen I would defo change the colour of the units to an antique cream and the worktop a darker colour maybe walnut and paint those double doors and the window sill white to match the other wood work also get a smaller round table it would give you more floor space the chairs you have would still work and maybe add some splashes of acidy colours lime green/orange or yellows not too much just a few touches. also Jacksplash is correct about the blind if you are keeping a blind go for a straight edge one. if your budget allows I would also change the sink to a white sink it really reflex light from the window and brightens the room I did something the same with my own sink it doesn't have to be a Belfast sink you can get the same sink as you already have in white ceramic.

Hi Mary, I'd say remove the wall tiles and replace them with a glass splashback the whole way round or have a matching granite upstand put in and simply paint the walls. Splashbacks are my favourite as they tend to add some light to the kitchen thanks to its reflective surface. Also another idea would be to play around with lighting, which is getting more and more popular in kitchens now, such as LEDs under your wall cabinets, on top of your cabinets or along the plinth. The added lighting just adds a little something special to the kitchen and more importantly it doesn't have to cost the earth either! Another lighting option could be to go with the industrial lighting craze right now and get something put right above the island which would really add character to the kitchen too! Marius

You should probably think of the floor covering in the overall plan as a light colour or dark colour may have an impact on whether you choose a light or dark colour for the worktop. Two different worktops, one on the island and one on the rest of the units might look well too. I like timber for an island but only if you don't need the worktop to be heat resistant and it's not near the sink. We've picked a dark grey for our island and will probably choose an off white worktop with a vein in it to contrast with it. Good luck with your decisions!

Hi, I have picked brushed nickel handles for my kitchen, now I am wondering which size knob I should go for. I was initially drawn to the larger size as my cabinets are extra tall (900 mm wall cabinets) but I am wondering if they will look a bit bulky? I am definitely going for the small size cup handle on my drawers. Any help appreciated.

I like the copper for the contrast but they are rather chunky.
