Hi. I'm trying to use hardie panel vertical board and batten siding like this, and trying to minimize the horizontal joint as much as possible. Are you using any kind of flashing between the panels or is it just a butt joint? Detail?
Thanks for the comment. We used a typical Z flashing at the horizontal joint - we were able to get taller (I think 10') panels. We broke the battens at the floor line with a scarf joint. If I were to do this all again twelve years (or more) later, we'd improve some of the details and installation.
