I second the recommendation for the Threshold performance sheets. They are very soft, and fit well.

Thank you Bluebell and jb. My only hesitation with those is the word sateen. I once had sateen sheets and hated them so am wondering what these would be like.

I like the target organic cotton sheets. It's been 2/3 years since I bought 2 sets for each of our beds, still in use. They don't have that wimpy almost slimy feel some super soft sheets have but they are also not stiff and crinkly. They are not the crisp sheets of my youth but I do like the feel and body. When weather cooperates I prefer to hang outside to dry (love that smell!) and I forgive imperfect hems. If I use the dryer I remove when a bit damp and iron pillowcases and top hem of flat sheet. It's a trade off.

I bought both the threshold percale and vintage percale. Get the vintage if going with one of those two. The regular ones, which I think in the past I said I didn’t mind, at every loud and crinkly. They both wrinkle but that doesn’t bother me because they’re sheets.If they were in a guest room I might iron the pillow cases but that’s it. I figure cotton wrinkles and the awesome vintage percale sheets my grandma had, they don’t seem to make anymore.

My favorites and the only ones I ever buy are the Fieldcrest (a Target brand) 700 thread count Supima Classic Hemstitch sheets.

To me, they're excellent quality, substantial and luxurious. !00% Supima cotton so they're not wrinkle free but they look absolutely fine if you make the bed or fold them immediately when removed from the dryer.

They have never ripped or had holes in them and I've been buying them or their former iteration for well over 12 years. I don't handle them with kid gloves, regular washing and drying but I don't use bleach.

Fieldcrest 700 thread count Supima Classic Hemstitch sheets

I'm a big fan of the Threshold Vintage Percale sheets from Target. White please. There are two kinds and I forget the name difference (maybe Vintage and Classic), but one is a little crinkly in a noisy way. It's the other kind I love. Yes, they wrinkle. But after you get a warm body rolling around inside for a night, they smooth out nicely.

The Target Threshold cotton percale sheets that I like are 300 count. The count is the only part I remember because I always thought the higher thread count, the better the sheets. I first bought a set when they were mentioned here a couple years ago. Some people thought they were noisy, I like that they are crispy. After using (and washing) my first set for awhile, I bought more for our numerous beds (real house and cabin) I’m still happy with them. .

I found some old threads (2016) when we talked in depth about the Target sheets. Vintage Percale is the kind I like. I have a set of Classic Percale and they have a slight rustling sound and more of a papery texture.

I bought 2 sets of Threshold sheets in May of 2019. The elastic on both fitted sheets for our master king bed have lost its hold. I just ordered 2 sets of Rough Linen with their new fitted and the Threshold sheets will be used as dropcloth/furniture covering when needed.

I've been very happy with the vintage percale.
