Can anyone help Esther with her chimney breast query?

Details from Esther:

Am trying to ascertain how difficult and rough idea of cost to remove a chimney breast. The chimney stack, which was on a flat roof, has already been removed and new roof laid. The room in question is directly below this flat roof. There are two flats below, one on first floor and the other on the ground floor - we are on the top.

    If it was mine, I would get three different quotes from builders who have actually visited the site first.
