Wall paint ideas for beige/walnut kitchen
Hi
im installing new kitchen cabinets in our open plan house. It’s IKEA voxtorp in walnut and high gloss beige. I want to paint the wall (just one) in a complementary color but can’t decide what I want. The island and base cabinets will be walnut, as well as all high cabinets. Wall cabinets will be a large rectangular module in high gloss beige. I’d like to tone down the beige and bring out the cooler mineral tones in the beige cabinets. The wall receives very little direct sunlight so color look more muted than in sunlight. Countertops will be white marble quartz with slight grey veining. The rest of the house will most likely be SW Zurich white.

Yes, we’ve been thinking that too. Now, I always gravitate towards the dusky green blue hues or a moody blue but hubby prefers a softer blue/gray. I’ve been thinking a very pale aqua could be nice but it so hard...

Comments (13)I would move the table to the window end of the room for view out and light while you eat . Perhaps turn it 90 degrees if that would work with the door opening. You may be able to seat 4. Make the rest of the right hand wall - about half of it a floor to ceiling wall of built in storage including the fridge. Suggest deep drawers for lower and double door pantry cupboards sitting above. The left hand wall in a long line of counter top with the cooker, sink, washing machine, lower cupboards or drawers. Comments (10)Hi Maria. It's a lovely kitchen and I must admit I like the white so would probably change the accessories. I would add a huge sunburst clock or mirror above the cabinets (can't work out if it's a clock or mirror above the fire). Add a statement light over the table. Try a coloured splashback behind the cabinets. Add some coloured stools. I would say paint the kitchen chairs but I can see they are good quality! If you do want to paint then either blues, violets or even a very soft grey if you add some coloured accesories. Comments (3)If the hall is that narrow and dark, walnut is not going to help as you've said. I assume you favour darker woods so wouldn't be keen on a light oak? If you really want the doors, add decent lighting. Go for an off white paint with a cream undertone with reflective particles. Add mirrors or anything reflective to bounce the light around. Painting the skirts and architraves white would help but I assume you want these left natural? Just a long shot but have you considered white doors with a walnut floor?!...See More

5 years agoOh yet! Thanks for all the advice! We actually decided on a color called ocean swell from Behr. Dark gray with some blue/green notes. We used Sherwin Williams paint though. That’s the dark square you can see on the wall. It’s beautiful, but thinking it’ll be too somber against the walnut..
