Hi everyone. We want to paint our house that we bought 6 months ago but we are not sure what colour scheme to go. I want grey with a feature wall (the green wall on the pics will be our feature wall where we will put a fireplace with a mantle) There is the living room and also dinning room / bar area to be painted. Any color of grey you guys suggest? Our furniture is white with a charcoal lounge. The dining area we want the industrial feeling. Appreciate any help. Thanks!!

For industrial feelings, I always say go with exposed brick. Nothing is more industrial than that! Or metal.

Hello! We bought a house with a wonderful extension that is full of French windows and light every time of the day and I’m having a hard time finding a scheme for it also because of its wooden ceilings and brick fireplace! It used to be super cozy and old fashion and after living in it for a while I painted the walls Priory Blue and Vintage Grey but still can’t decide whether white or anything else would have been a better choice! need some colour tips. I tried matching the two french doors in the living room to the ral black we have on the internal screen. The original colour on the French doors was off white . Should I paint it back or keep the black on the French doors ?

You could pick up grey tonal value of bricks in bar or from lounge/cushions for a cohesive look. Another idea is to paint some large sheets of greys on board and see how they perform with feature wall and times during the day/evening. Keep it soft but remember it depends on the tint added to the grey ie blue grey, warm grey etc. Grey can be a bit like white - there are just so many. Dulux Resene, Taubmans they are all good or pay for a colour consultant that have the training.

An off-the-wall idea!! Consider tan shades for your painting. The bricks have a great deal of tan in them.

Tan is lovely with grey colours as it has a warming effect. It would look great with the floorboards too. Also metallics.

Add some dark, smouldering, moody blue for feature pieces - perfect Industrial.

warm tans=Buffalo Bill;Recycled;Coconut Husk. Also Pragmatic

Hi Carlos

Going of your pictures, maybe for the living & TV wall go for a lighter grey (Dulux Milton Moon or Tranquil Retreat). Depending on what fire place you are installing, you can either tile the fire place surround in dark grey tones with a rough textured tile. Or you could paint the wall and fire place in a dark grey (I like Dulux Teahouse) and incorporate with either a white or a chunky wood mantel with rustic brackets. Another option is using steel for the fireplace surround with rustic timber mantel. With the bar and keeping to your grey colours the Dulux Namadji has a dark grey with a brown tinge that may compliment the bricks. If too dark try it in 1/2 strength. In the end it also depends on the natural light coming into the rooms.
