We have an Iron stair case from our upstairs maisonette to our garden - they are battered and are rotten - who do I contact about these?
They structurally are becoming unsafe(cracks in the steps and the rods between the hand rail and steps are really rotten) and they need to be worked on - does anyone does both jobs?
If the iron is very corroded, then i'm guessing it may not be salvageable and that for safety reasons you'd need a new staircase, but that's a worse case scenario.

A good local blacksmith is certainly who you need. If you do get a new staur made then spend the extra few hundred of pounds and get it galvanized. It will stop the rust for many years and mean that you dont have to re-paint it every few years. If you want any further advice just give me a shout. Good luck.
