Chalk board paint in kitchen

We just got our splashback installed and im not too sure on colour blue! I was thinking of painting the wall to the left around the door in chalk board paint and then painting above the kitchen presses a dark shade. Any opinions welcome. Thanks

Hello Sarah,

Well if you're not keen on the blue you may wish to change.. There are a number of chalk board paint colours so you could choose a charcoal for example rather than a black.. There is a blue and a rust colour and also a pink I have seen... With white too also seen, you can mix and create a colour that might give you more options.. . :))

I personally like the kitchen, kind of a Scandinavian modern look. leave the skirts, doors and trims as is. Paint wise, I am going to invite you to a kitchen gallery that I think works well with the existing aesthetic you have now. I like the "Melrose Kitchen" in this instance, as an example of wall color. The trim is painted here, but leaving yours as is, I believe, would be fine! Happy Houzzing.

A15) @Dara Cooke: If you can't afford a quartz or granite worktop from day one then I would recommend using a laminate worktop as a temporary solution. If you don't put tiles up as a backsplash then replacing the worktops can be relatively easy in a couple of years.

I've a large open plan pitch roof kitchen that leads into a standard size living room. I've painted my living room F&B Pigeon and railings on the skirting board to match the railings on the island in the kitchen. I had planned to paint the kitchen pigeon but I'm now doubting my decision. Any suggestions on alternative colours to complement the pigeon or should I just go bold?
