I'd go simple subway tile. Also change door hardware to all be the same.

haha, thank you @beachlily! I was in the process of switching out the hardware when I took the pics and wondered if anyone would notice

Consider going with tone on tone textured tiles. Keep it classical. Sometimes you can introduce a slightly darker contrasting grout color to accentuate the tile shape or design. The new trend is moving away from the subway tile look, it might date the kitchen in a short period of time. I would select your back splash tile before selecting the paint color. Paint colors I always select last, it is what pulls everything together.

The color of cabinets looks yellow in picture...if it is ivory then any color you like would work...color is very personal and should relate to you and the rest of your home...try using houzz photos of kitchens to get ideas of which colors appeal to you
