What to do on this wall?

I have this 12 foot wall in my eat in kitchen. It opens up to a hallway. On the right of the picture is the kitchen. The table and chairs will eventually be replaced, likely with something less formal as I now have an actual formal dining room in another room. I'm just trying to figure out what I can do with this space and blank walls in the meantime.

Comments (10)Hi Maria. It's a lovely kitchen and I must admit I like the white so would probably change the accessories. I would add a huge sunburst clock or mirror above the cabinets (can't work out if it's a clock or mirror above the fire). Add a statement light over the table. Try a coloured splashback behind the cabinets. Add some coloured stools. I would say paint the kitchen chairs but I can see they are good quality! If you do want to paint then either blues, violets or even a very soft grey if you add some coloured accesories. Comments (8)I love your room, but it isn't done! Find some jazzy art to hang over the fireplace in vibrant colors. Select a major and minor color from the art work and add pillows, and 3 accessories that are LARGE to place on three places in the book shelves. 9 years agoI would put two large posters on the wall behind the table in your pic, preferably vertical images hung offset, lined up with the dining area -- that is, don't address the whole wall, but break it up by "room" unit.
