tiling a worktop

Looking to tile my kitchen worktop this weekend. It’s not laminate its earth stone and has faded over the years.
Which is the best adhesive to use as want it to last

Jenny, you posted in "Before and After" you'll get more responses if you post in " Design Dilemma" but I do love the colour of charcoal grey skirt that lady is wearing with the mustard. LOL, what is it with teenage boyz, sitting on the counter tops anyway :) Cheers to that glass of wine!!!

Either could be laid- you would need to use different adhesives on the wood or concrete though. There isn't much difference between- I would look for a reputable supplier and not online though as the decent quality may not be there. Any tiles can be laid on a diagonal if your tiler is good enough! Jade

Hi there, to harmonize with the earthy and natural tones in your kitchen, you could consider Old White by Farrow & Ball, which in rooms with good natural lighting creates a soft grey finish or Cotswold by Neptune, a subtle grey. We are replacing our 1980s kitchen. The design is here: https://my-kitchen.howdens.com/plan/gjE37205200087fl We want to use these tiles: http://www.toppstiles.co.uk/tprod44325/batik-patchwork-grey-tile.html It's a large surface area so we are quite keen not to go overboard, possibly haunted by the fact every wall is completely tiled from top to bottom in the current kitchen. The questions are: 1) Can we use the tile as an upstand of sorts, and only tile up to two tiles high (about 20cm)? Or would it be better to tile the whole area between the worktop and the wall cupboards? Should the tile height increase around the sink or will it be OK to take it all the way round at the same height? Will it be OK without a tile trim? 2) What colour sockets should we have? Can't decide between stainless steel or standard white? TIA!
