Nick is a true master at his craft. We had the opportunity to work with Nick and Xeristyle on two separate occasions, in 2019 to redo our front yard and most recently in 2021 to redo our backyard. We had called on Nick to help us reimagine our backyard with a few criteria's in place and Nick and crew surpassed our expectations. We knew we wanted it to tie in together with our front yard, good space for entertaining, and enough space to play fetch with our dogs. From day 1 Nick was very communicative with each days/weeks and what to expect. He was very collaborative and suggestive in plant selections. Suggestion beautiful things we had never heard of before. He is quite the plant scientist which is very impressive. We're thrilled with the outcome and can't wait to see how everything blooms and grows. We have a beautiful backyard thanks to Xeristyle. Nick was creative and thoughtful in his design and execution. He really listened to our needs and wants. He pulled it altogether within our budget and in a very timely fashion.

Nick was recommended to us by a friend and from the minute I met him I was impressed by his breadth of knowledge, attention to detail and professionalism. Nick transformed our front yard from outdated grass and dark trees to an open, inviting and drought tolerant oasis. He spent hours on the design of our property and reviewed every last detail with me. We have received several compliments on our front yard from friends and neighbors and I have referred Nick to several people. Nick did an amazing job changing our backyard from an empty wasteland of dead grass into an inviting, beautiful, drought tolerant landscape. He was able to work within our limited budget and offered suggestions while listening to our requests. He even took the time to help us apply to a rebate program offered by the Irvine Water District, which really helped us out! We love our backyard and feel that it adds beauty and value to our home.

I knew Nick's aesthetic was in line for what I was looking for, and the design plan for which he came up with for our front yard is something we are eager to install in the upcoming months. His ability to mix different colors, textures and heights to create an overall look that creates a peaceful, yet playful, balance is a hallmark of his design sense. I didn't want an English garden look filled with drought tolerant plants running wild and untamed, and I also didn't want a Vegas desert-and-gravel look that was dry, flat and one-dimensional. Very few people do what Nick does and that is the ability to create what's best in all those worlds and come up with a third option. We will be removing and replacing our front lawn with his design plan which includes tons of plant material that will make our yard not only drought tolerant and water efficient, but interesting and pleasing to look at, too. Nick is very easy to work with, listens to feedback and finds the best way to move forward with the project. He has great insight and natural sense which is what makes him so good at what he does. I will be sure to post pics once we are done!

Nick and Nick are very professional guys. Nick talked in depth with me and helped me decide what the best overall design would be for my patio. They worked very quick, clean and efficiently. We were extremely pleased with Xeristyle's design and work on our front yard! They converted our turf to a gorgeous drought tolerant garden. Nicklaus was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was very prompt, available, professional, and his design ideas were fantastic. We showed photos of gardens we like to Nick, and he drew a design to make that look come to life in our front yard! He recommended gorgeous, drought tolerant plants in color & style combinations that we prefer. The installation work was very quick, organized, and clean. It has been about 6 months, and our garden is growing in beautifully. We absolutely love our new front yard and are very grateful for Xeristyle Design!

We were vey excited to work with Nick. He was very detailed oriented and spent a lot of time planning with us - he even creating a design plan that was approved by our city's architectural committee. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to create what he promised us. He told us to give the plants one year to fill in. After a lot of messaging him, he visited about 8months later after I told him the yard was looking bad and he switched out a few plants and said give it more time. So, we followed a watering schedule, fertilized and re-mulched and to our dismay and extreme disappointment the yard looks terrible after 1.5 years. More than 50 % of all the plants have died and those that have survived have not spread and look sickly. We are now in the process of hiring someone else who can help fix the mess.

Love, love, love our brand-new landscaping. Nick planted both our backyard and front yard landscaping. We had pulled everything out several years previously and it was awesome to see our landscaping come to life again! His recommendations were awesome. As you approach our front door, you can smell the Lavender and Rosemary. We have succulents, drought tolerant plants, and beautiful color! We added only a few pieces of whimsical garden art. The plants grew in beautifully. Our neighbors continually admire Nick's fabulous work of art. Nick's cost was very reasonable. We were very pleased at how affordable the plants & job were. Everything has grown in and is lush and beautiful. Nick was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend him to anyone who wants a sharp, knowledgeable , trustworthy, hard-working, talented and reasonable landscape designer... and wait for it.... beautiful landscape!
