Martin did the plans for the facade of my business premises which I wanted to upgrade.The shop is on a street that is more residential than commercial and the houses nearby are of an old Georgian style so Martin's plans involved the use of timbers and brick to give the shopfront a traditional look that was in keeping with the surrounds and he had a great appreciation for this.It turned out a fantastic job,it's been widely complemented and I'm very grateful for the design he came up with.Also while the job was ongoing,Martin was on site to make sure it was been carried out to the spec. I would recommend Martin to anyone undergoing any building project,he's easy to deal with and has a great eye for what works best for the customer.

Our project involved a large restoration of a farmhouse with an extension. From the start we realised this project would take a lot of time, experience and effort. I engaged Martin on the recommendation of friends for whom he had performed an excellent job. My brief to Martin was to provide an archictectural design for my house extension in Limerick. He understood my brief very well and was always open to clarification on key issues and he provided me with several design options for my consideration. During the process of selling our house, some unforeseen planning problems arose which required attention. Martin Shinnors rose to the challenge of resolving some retention issues and got us over the line with prompt and professional solutions. We are delighted to have had Martins input into our extension plans. We were quite unsure how to go about the design with a North facing back & get as much light into the kitchen open plan space we were adding. We got Martin out to discuss a straight forward extension. The amount of ideas and recommendations Martin made blew us away! He has lifted something that could have been just an extra room into something extraordinary. I couldn’t recommend him more, 5 stars all the way ⭐️

Having spoken to a number of prospective architects we felt that Martin could deliver the brief we were looking for. We asked that Martin capture what mattered to us rather than what the house would look like. The brief was quite simple, we wanted to incorporate the panoramic views of the surrounding countryside whilst having separate living and sleeping quarters. We wanted a modern build, but importantly it had to fit into its surroundings. Martin drew up a plan that required little change as he had taken on board exactly what we were looking for from the outset. Martin explained the drawings (which he also created in 3D) to us so that we were sure about our choices before the work started. As it was a green field site, the day we started digging we knew the budget and the design reflected this. The building process was seamless, with both Martin and our contractor working together to deliver a build in under 10 months. What we're left with is a beautiful house that has an incredible calm and lovely feel to it. Martin thought of everything, even down to the orientation of our L shaped house on the site and how it now welcomes us up the driveway. With extensive uninterrupted views to the south and the sleeping and living quarters separated by a large hall, Martin absolutely nailed the brief. We honestly wouldn't change one thing about the house and couldn't recommend Martin highly enough.

Martin worked from a (very long) list of requirements and wishes for our house extension. The designs he came up with was well thought out, and sat within the context of the existing house and surrounding landscape. Everything we queried on the design had a logical explanation which Martin talked through with us. As a couple of engineers, his more 'hands off' approach to project management through the construction stages was balanced by our ability to make technical decisions, but this may be daunting for non-technical clients. Definitely recommend his design skills and enthusiasm to potential clients.

From the moment I met Martin I knew he was someone I could work with. He has a very gentle approach and he listened well to my thoughts and ideas and from there his innate ability to know just what type of house I was seeking to find paid off. Martin Shinnors Architect prepared a design for the upgrade of our 1990s domestic dwelling house. In preparation for the design work and to ensure an informed design Martin Shinnors Architects first carried out a detailed house survey after which we were provided with a report summarising recommended remedial works to make good existing defects, to improve energy efficiency and better compliance with the Building Regulations. The recommendations from this report were taken into consideration throughout the design development process. During the design development Martin always listened to us and understood our requirements. At the same time his experience was evident as he guided us on every decision, highlighted various factors we should consider and always advised on best practice. Martin called to our house to meet us on numerous occasions to discuss the design, present different design options and ensure the final design met our needs. Martin also facilitated last minute changes.
